Jo came with her delicious brownies while Siew Yean brought along the famous lor bak from Batu Lanchang. WomenBizSense 2nd Anniversary Lunch at QE2, Church St Pier, 27 June 2008

WomenBizSENSE celebrated its 2nd birthday at the QE2 @ Church St Pier on 27 June 2008. Some 11 ladies turned up to help us celebrate - Mety, Siew Yean, Jo, Krista, Muzlifah, Vimala, Harriet, Kristine, Grace, Kim, SK - in the private upstairs room of QE2 overlooking the gorgeous marina. Kim even brought along a durian cheesecake for our 'birthday' (thanks Kim for your thoughtfulness!).
As we lunched, we shared on lessons we learnt in business and in life, focusing on values like respect, humility, gratitude and kindness. We learnt that no matter who we become or what we do, the most important values should always be remembered for at the end of the day, people and relationships matter more, over things and possessions.

Durian Party, 18 June 2008 @ Paya Terubong

Stella, Josephine, Siew Yean, Ai Lee (and her 3 year old, Ethan), Mety, Jo and Krista had a great time at the durian feast on 18 June. They met at the Air Itam Shell petrol station before carpooling in 2 SUVs to Mr Low's durian shack in Paya Terubong to try this year's harvest.

We tried a good variety of durians such as D2, Hor Lor, Siaw Hong, etc. prompting Ai Lee to exclaim she was in durian heaven! Unfortunately, it was just the beginning of the season so we really didn't gorge too much though it was quite funny seeing a bunch of ladies eagerly eating durians on a humid Wednesday afternoon!

Some came with empty stomachs to 'attack' the fruit! But we promised to go again, and to sample even more good stuff in the coming weeks. Yummy!
